Sofia is an analogue photographer based in Hamburg, Germany. She works across several media, including 35mm and 120mm film, instant photography, and Super 8 motion picture. Constantly exploring the material possibilities of film, she experiments with techniques such as emulsion lifts, film soups, double exposures, film lettering, and colouring. With a background as a food technologist, Sofia approaches photography as an ongoing experiment — a space for discovery and transformation. Guided by a romantic eye, she seeks to capture beauty in its most delicate and dreamlike forms, often evoking an ethereal, almost mythical atmosphere. Sofia is an active member of Analogfilmwerke, a Hamburg-based collective promoting analogue still photography and motion picture.
